Westin Miyako Hotel
Social Spaces Kyoto JapanThe member’s lounge and dining area is an ode to ochanoma (tea rooms in traditional Japanese houses and ryokans). Mushroom and pastel shades dot the central space with an organic envelope arched brass screens tethered to undulating banquettes and curved cabinets. Darker taupe and husk toned spaces (including smoked oak wall paneling and integrated desks) enable quiet zones for uninterrupted work and meetings. A midnight blue coffered ceiling plunges the separate bar into a decadent nocturnal mood, with sofas upholstered in YSL’s distinctive Opium red shade and a cocktail of brass accents shimmering under ambient lighting to recall the glamour of the 70’s disco era.
